Lubov Ivanovna is a pensioner. Her house in the town of Maryinka (Donetsk region) often comes under shelling. Her family lives in the house too – her paralyzed husband, her daughter, a son-in-law and two granddaughters (the younger one is only 2 years old). Like many others in the front-line towns, this family has no opportunity of moving to a safer place.
“There were times when we had to spend 12 hours under shelling. We couldn’t go outside to cook some food (there was no electricity supply in the house either). We had some dry instant noodles and we would share one pack between 5 people and eat it with cold water”, shares Lubov Ivanovna.
The situation in the family was so difficult that the daughter Oxana had to go to the missionary center to ask for humanitarian aid.
“I came to the prayer meeting one Saturday and never left it since. The people there, their kindness and sincere attitude were attracting me to the church. I found support and faith in God. Moreover, I found faith in myself. God is helping me in my life. I always come to Him when it’s hard”.
Every morning for Lubov Ivanovna begins with a prayer and reading the Bible with the missionaries. Then she starts her working day which includes cleaning, cooking food, distributing humanitarian aid and visiting people in their homes.
“I love helping people. It’s always a joy for me to see people’s eyes shining and hear “Thank you for being available”.
“We all need to turn to God and trust Him more. And He will help us”
