The “Old Shoemaker” play is coming to USA for a Christmas tour between December 1 and 25.
“The Old Shoemaker” is a story based on the Lev Tolstoy’s novel with wonderful actors’ performance and touching music. This is the story of an old shoemaker who was waiting for a special guest on a Christmas Eve. The guest would not come but some orphans and a poor widow visited him instead.
“The Old Shoemaker” play is known and loved throughout the world. Over 100 thousands people have already watched the play.
The unique feature of this play is that the roles of the children in it are performed by orphans.
This year, the team of actors includes orphans from an orphanage in Severodonetsk as well as children from large families from Eastern Ukraine.
Current cast.
In this trip we are planning to perform in more than 6 cities of USA. The performances are aimed at sharing about the status of orphans in Ukraine and raising finances to purchase warm shoes for children and elderly people living in the frontline towns of Eastern Ukraine.
In all of the previous tours of “Old Shoemaker” (10 trips to USA and 3 trips to Europe), over 50 orphans were adopted. Here are the stories of two of them.
