Just a couple of months ago, Nina couldn’t even dream that her life would change.
Loaded with her household chores and caring for her disabled child, this young mother of three children didn’t pay too much attention to her own health as she tried to survive in a village located within 35 km to the front line. Random shells falling in her village only added to the feelings of despair and fear for the lives of her loved ones.
Besides, Nina experienced some grave problems with her health. After a failed bladder surgery, a huge hernia started growing in her stomach. It was really difficult to move and Nina experienced terrible pains, but she couldn’t afford to have a surgery to fix the problem.
As Nina cried at nights, she prayed to God to help her.
«In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me» Psalm 120:1
«My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber» Psalm 121
Soon, a team of missionaries came to Podlesnoye village. Nina and her children were invited to a concert. Later on, Nina was able to attend Emmanuel’s medical outreach in Toshkovka village. The doctors of «Medical Mobile Clinic» saw the woman’s grave condition and realized that she couldn’t wait no more. They started to look for a clinic in Kyiv which could help Nina with the surgery.
Soon after that Nina found herself in a modern medical center «Ibn Sina» where she finally had a surgery she needed. Emmanuel Association was able to cover all of the travel and surgery expenses in the framework of a joint medial project with «Pope for Ukraine» Initiative.
«To come to Kyiv and to stay in this wonderful and comfortable clinic is something unbelievable for me as a woman from a small village of Donbass. It feels like it can’t be happening to me! Besides, while I am here, people in my village are praying for me! Christians from all over Europe answered the call of Pope Francis and raised money to help people in eastern Ukraine. I am the one who was blessed to use this help! I do want to follow our God who loves me so much and cares for me», Nina shared emotionally.
Nina’s life has drastically changed. At the hospital, Nina repented and gave her life to Jesus Christ. Besides, Nina and her boy-friend who had been living together for a long time, decided to get officially married. In the nearest future Nina wants to be baptized and she is looking into her future with hope.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11
We rejoice in our privilege to serve others and see changes in their lives!
May God bless Nina and her family and every one who contributed to this help!
