“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22
CBN-Ukraine has been implementing its “SEEDS” (Something to Eat Every Day) Project for several years now. The purpose of the project is to provide seed material to the needy people living in war-affected zone of eastern Ukraine. The results of this projects in the previous years have been amazing: the project’s beneficiaries had something to eat during the summer and had their cellars full of vegetables and preserves for the coming winter.
This year, the SEED project was financed by Orphan’s Promise, USA. Thanks to their financial support, 6,000 vulnerable families living on the frontlines will receive assortments of seeds. In late February, a truck full of seeds arrived to the town of Slavyansk, Donetsk Oblast.
Each seeds package includes seeds of beets, peas, cabbage, beans, dill, corn, carrots, parsley, radishes, cucumbers and tomatoes.
This disaster relief project will not only help the needy with the seeds but will also provide the beneficiaries with the tools for working in their gardens thus stimulating people to develop their skills and self-sufficiency.
We are grateful to “Orphan’s Promise” who have been our friends and partners for many years!
